More info

In the tale, a spoiled princess reluctantly befriends a frog. They meet when the princess accidentally drops her favorite ball into a well. The frog agrees to help the princess but she must do him a fovour in return. She must allow him to eat from her plate, drink from her cup and sleep on her pillow. The princess readily agrees and so the frog dives into the well and retrieves the ball. But as soon as the princess gets her ball she darts off leaving the frog behind. That night, as the princess sits down to dinner with her father the king there is a knock at the door and her father sends her to see who it is. She is shocked to find the very tired frog at her doorstep. She immediately shuts the door and returns to the dinner table and lies to her father. But the frog raises a ruckus outside the palace and the king sends his servant to answer the door instead. The man and frog soon enter the dining hall and the frog tells the king of the princess' promise to him in exchange for getting her her ball back. The king is a good person and insists that his daughter honor her end of the bargain and so the frog joins them to dinner. He eats off the princess' plate and drinks from her cup. At last it is time for bed and the frog follows the princess up to her room. But she refuses to let him sleep in the bed with her much less use her pillow and so the poor frog curles up in a corner on the hard wooden floor. That night she has a nightmare that she is turned into a frog and children throw stones at her.

She awakes in the morning and apologizes to the frog for being so cruel. The following night, she gives the frog her pillow to sleep on and awakes the following morning not to find the same frog but a handsome prince instead. They fall in love and wish to be married but the two have to convince the king. And so the Frog Prince approaches the king and says that the princess had promised the Frog Prince to marry him as well. And so the king agrees and the prince and princess live happily ever after.
